Simon Knott gave an illuminating talk on Saturday 22 April in the church, describing his work on the book Men Myths and Monsters (https://gazeleychurch.org/men-myths-and-monsters/) , and gave us insights into the medieval minds which were responsible for the beautiful carved chancel roof in the church. Simon has extensive experience as a church historian, and he reiterated that he has never seen a collection of carvings comparable to those on the Gazeley ceiling.

The event was extremely well attended, and we were fortunate to receive some very welcome donations to help replace the leaking chancel roof and halt the deterioration to this important and beautiful piece of history.
